Miniatures are 11-14 inches tall at the shoulder.  They are large enough to not be as fragile around children and larger dogs while still being small enough to be a lap dog. Sometimes, the 11" minis are referred to as oversized toys, but the AKC standard says they are miniatures.   Miniatures are becoming more popular as their size, disposition, and beauty make them a wonderful addition to any family.  We have included pictures of  our UKC partis and phantoms and also Sonny and Sierra as they all meet the miniature standard.
